In 1948, armed conflict between Israel and neighbouring Islam states broke out and conjured the 1948 Arab-Israeli conflict.
This conflict developed into total four stages of war, each occurring in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973 with immense casualties.
It was during the 3rd stage, also well-known as the ‘Six-Day War’ when Israel took over today’s Israeli territory with their victory.

Israel West Bank Barrier Palestine In 2002,
Israel constructed the ‘West Bank Barrier’ to prevent attacks and secure themselves from terrorism.
Its construction not only segregated Palestinians residing within the boarder, but also limited their lives in a devastating matter.

UNRWA began its operation for Palestine refugees in 1950 and offers a wide range of aid in education, health, protection,
relief&social services and many more. Today UNRWA provides relief to around 5.6 million Palestine refugees in 5 areas.
1) The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East
2) Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem

To commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Nov 29th,
ICDH wishes to introduce an archive made through six decades.
The UNRWA Photo and Film Archives of Palestinian Refugees is a collective documentation which UNRWA captured from 1948.
It conveys the lives of refugees, delivering the entire moments of evacuation,
children suffering from famine, poor living environments and the continued disturbance.

The UNRWA Photo and Film Archives of Palestinian Refugees is a channel
that shows the lively situation of refugee camps and international relief campaigns.

The archive holds how UNRWA provides refugees with health and educational foundation and supports job educations.
It also portrays Palestinian culture and tradition alongside how Palestine refugees are striving for life.

We are able to witness the tragedy of war and the everyday lives of refugees
through the UNRWA Photo and Film Archives of Palestinian Refugees.
It is the plain reality and difficulties that are shown through the photographs and audiovisual data.
This Memory of the World is living history, an exceptional document which tells the frank story of Palestine refugees to the world.
It would be our task to seek future paths for universal peace and harmony, starting one step by recognizing this Memory of the World.

it is our dear hope that peaceful breezes arrive soon.
