ICDH carries out the 1st Bridge Program for the Project “From Jikji to Gutenberg.”

The UNESCO International Centre for Documentary Heritage(ICDH) carried out the 1st Bridge Programme for the Project “From Jikji to Gutenberg” from May 17 to 25 in Washington DC and Princeton, USA.
※ Bridge Programme : Programmes for strengthening the ‘bridge-building’ and sharing knowledge between related institutions, researchers, and professionals in the Republic of Korea and the USA for the Project “From Jikji to Gutenberg”
In the 1st Bridge Programme, ICDH visited diverse organizations, including the Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution Library and Museum, and Princeton University Library. And ICDH and related organizations discussed cultural/technical research results taken place so far by respective organizations about the cast-metal type in the east and west.
ICDH will carry out the 2nd Bridge Programme in upcoming July. It will conduct old printing research using a scientific analysis method and scan old printings with various light irradiations, including multi-spectrum imaging
